It is most commonly used as a natural laxative and aids digestion.

- Also helps with diarrhoea due to its ability to bind
- Aids in satiety and people use it for weight loss
- Also very useful in aiding those suffering from IBS
- It is considered a Pre-biotic and may promote healthy growth of probiotics in the gut

- Carbs 15g; Protein 0g; Fat 6.9g; Fibre 10.6g; Sugar 0g
- Calcium 30mg: Iron 0.9mg
Uses:
- Dosage for psyllium differ. Some suggest 8 gm in a large glass of water per day.
- Side effects could be diarrhoea, bloating, nausea if too much is taken
- Used in baking to bind
- Used instead of eggs
