The Health Food Emporium's vegan protein is a fermentation-derived protein isolate (FDPI) obtained from Saccharomyces cerevisiae commonly known as baker's/brewer's yeast. Through a fermentation, extraction and purification process, the non-protein components (fats and polysaccharides) are removed, leaving a clean, high-quality protein isolate containing no whole or viable yeast cells in the final product.

It is a complete protein, containing all 9 essential amino acids (EAAs) including branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs), with a protein content of minimum 80% and a Protein Digestibility-Corrected Amino Acid Score (PDCAAS) of 1.0 the highest possible score, equivalent to whey protein.

The Health Food Emporium's vegan protein is rich in lysine, naturally contains beta-glucans, and is heat-stable, making it suitable for both hot and cold, sweet and savoury applications.

Typical values per 100 g:

  • Protein: 80 g
  • BCAAs: > 21 g
  • PDCAAS Score: 1.0 / 1.0
  • Essential Amino Acid Profile (g/100g):
  • Lysine: 9.4 g
  • Methionine + Cystine: 2.6 g
  • Tryptophan: 1.3 g
  • Threonine: 5.4 g
  • Isoleucine: 5.9 g
  • Leucine: 9.8 g
  • Phenylalanine + Tyrosine: 10.8 g
